ORDINANCE NO. G-437

AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO AND FIXING THE CHARGES TO BE PAID TO THE CITY OF HARPER FOR WATER SERVICE, AMENDING SECTION 48-158 SUBSECTIONS (A) AND (B) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO G-434.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS:

Section 1. Section 15-226 of the City Code of the City of Harper shall be amended as follows:

RATES FOR WATER SERVICE. Charges for residential water consumed and delivered within the city limits from the municipal waterworks system and distribution system shall be as follows:

A) For residential water service inside the city limits:

1) For the first 2,000 gallons $48.42

2) For the next 38,000 per month $4.99 per 1,000 gallons.

3) For all in excess of 40,000 per month $4.74 per 1,000 gallons.

4) Multiple units: where more than one resident, apartment, business or combination thereof, is served by one meter, except as provided in subsection E, there shall be a water rate charged for each occupied unit. Where there is multiple unit use, it shall be the owners or landlords responsibility to notify the city office in cases of such occupancy.

B) Rates for commercial, industrial and water service outside the city limits:

1) For the first 2,000 gallons $56.09

2) For all water used over the minimum 2,000 gallons, regular city rates shall apply.

Section 2. That Section 48-158, Subsections (a) and (b) of the City Code of the City of Harper, KS be and the same is hereby amended.

Section 3. That Ordinance No. G-434 is hereby repealed.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and publication in the official city newspaper.
