MINUTES OF BOCC REGULAR MEETING

The Board of Commissioners of Grant County, Oklahoma (BOCC) held a regular meeting Monday, January 13, 2025, at 9:00 am. Notice of the Meeting, including agenda, was posted at both entrances of the Grant County Courthouse, Medford, OK, Friday, January 3, 2025, prior to 9:00 am. in accordance with Title 25, §301-314 O.S.

Fredrick called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. After roll call, a quorum was acknowledged. Present were Craig A. Fredrick, Max L. Hess. Steve Stinson arrived at 9:05am. Also present were Rachelle D McCaleb, Kerstin Orcutt, Penny Huff, and Emily Franke. Teleconferencing was enabled to comply with the Open Meetings Act. Out of the commissioners Fredrick, Hess, and Stinson used their signature stamps and hand signed as well.

Hess said a prayer and Fredrick led the flag salute.

Mccaleb acknowledged the agenda was properly posted in compliance with the Open Meeting Act.

Emily Franke with OSU Extension Office discussed Community Beautification Project Grant Program and putting in flowerbeds at the Pond Creek Building. The project would need the County to match the $500 grant. This is a one-time match. Emily has discussed with the Fair Board regarding maintaining the flowerbeds and will further discuss with them regarding the need for additional drainage around the building. She will report back to the Board before the Grant deadline.

Discussion of yearly county property inspections – County Clerk will follow-up with ACCO and Sherrif’s office for any forms or information pertaining to the inspection process.

Discussion of Fair Board Elections – Election notice will be published 02/06/2025 with election commencing on 02/22/2025. Elections will take place from 7:30am – 1:00pm at each District’s shed location.

No New Business.

Stinson reported that District 3 is loading rock, checking roads, and digging shale today. He will be attending the CED8 meeting on Wednesday and the Wheat Heart Board meeting is on Thursday.

Hess reported that District 1 is doing maintenance in the shop today. He will be attending the CED8 meeting this week also. Discussed lnvex quote to check inventory for the districts, and they should all be done at the same time. Dale @ ACCO has requested counties to upgrade their commemorative stones at the ODAFF Building. Stinson will check in Enid for something that is local to our area. Dimensions should be 29×17.

Fredrick reported that District 2 roads are damp and working on some rock roads today. He will be attending the CED8 meeting this week. Tried to attend the NODA meeting via ZOOM, due to inclement weather, but it did not work. NODA will be coming to do a private training session with Fredrick and Jennifer next week.
